Nagaland made history as Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio officially inaugurated the first-ever Nagaland Super League (NSL) with a grand opening ceremony at Chümoukedima Football Stadium. During the ceremony, CM Rio called it a historic day for football and sports in Nagaland. He paid tribute to Dr. T. Ao, a legendary footballer who played a crucial role in Indian football history. Expressing gratitude to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for its continuous support, he emphasized that NSL will serve as a stepping stone for young footballers in the state.

Seven Elite Teams Competing for Glory

The inaugural edition of NSL features seven top teams from across Nagaland, showcasing the best footballing talent in the state. These teams include:

  • Nagaland United SC
  • Frontier Warriors
  • Red Scars FC
  • Suchu Zubza FC
  • Longterok FC
  • Barak FC
  • 27th United FC

Matches will be played at two venues: Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima and Chümoukedima Football Stadium.

Inaugural Match: Barak FC vs. Nagaland United SC

Following the opening ceremony, the much-anticipated first match of NSL kicked off between Barak FC and Nagaland United SC.
