Frontier Warriors FC Secure First-Ever Win in a 10-Goal Thriller Against Sechu Zubza FC

Matchday 6 of the Nagaland Super League delivered an exhilarating spectacle as Frontier Warriors FC (FWFC) claimed their first-ever victory in the league with a stunning 6-4 triumph over Sechu Zubza FC (SZFC). The high-scoring encounter not only marked a historic moment for FWFC but also saw them climb to 5th place in the league standings.

FWFC and SZFC went head-to-head in an electrifying battle that kept fans on the edge of their seats in a match packed with attacking brilliance. Despite an early lead from SZFC, FWFC showcased resilience and attacking prowess to turn the game around and secure all three points.

First Half:

SZFC came out firing, dominating the early exchanges with quick attacking moves and multiple set pieces. Their pressure paid off in the 11th minute when Thejasetou Ajabu (No. 7) slotted in the opener, assisted by Khiuwangbo.

However, FWFC responded swiftly as Ayenmongba equalized in the 20th minute with a well-placed strike. Building on their momentum, FWFC took the lead in the 38th minute through Longkhoi, who capitalized on an assist from Ayenmongba to make it 2-1.

Second Half:

SZFC came out strong after the break, finding the equalizer just two minutes into the second half (47’) through Rhitso Mero. But FWFC quickly regained control, launching a devastating counterattack that saw Dangmei restore their lead in the 58th minute. Just four minutes later (62’), Dangmei struck again with a composed finish, putting FWFC 4-2 ahead.

Ayenmongba further extended the lead in the 71st minute, seemingly putting the game beyond SZFC’s reach. However, SZFC kept fighting, with Pynbhalang pulling one back in the 86th minute. FWFC sealed their victory in the 89th minute through Naresh Singh’s clinical strike. Despite SZFC earning a stoppage-time penalty, which Thejasetou Ajabu converted (95’), it was too late to change the outcome.
